THE MICR SERIES
Manufacturers of MICR
processing equipment are offered Data Recording Heads
comprehensive series of PREMAGNETISATION and READING heads.
These premier quality components are designed for use in systems
which process both CMC7 and E13B print fonts, featuring superior
signal-to-noise characteristics when compared to other products
used in this application.

PREMAGNETISATION can be achieved using either permanent magnet
or inductive components. Both of these types are available.
READING HEADS can be supplied with track width options
- 7.5mm for E13B
or CMC7 fonts where the signal-to-noise ratio is critical.
- 9.2mm for CMC7
detection where character height variations are less well controlled.
Both PREMAGNETISATION
and READING HEADS have standard options in respect of wiring termination
and mounting details.
- external connection
from read heads can be by multicore screened wiring within an
isolating cover, by single unscreened wires or by pins for customer
controlled wiring details.
- the standard fixing
method is by screws into a base plate; this method automatically
controls the track centre position at 7.98mm from a reference
surface. Alternatively heads can be supplied without the base
plate to facilitate alternative customer requirements.
- The location and
character sizes are defined in following specifications:
CMC 7 I.S.O.1004 1995 Information Processing - Magnetic ink
character recognition
Print specifications: E13 B ANSI x 3.3 1970 and R 1976 Bank
